The letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome is filled with practical instruction for believers in Christ. It also reveals one of the best outlines for understanding God’s perspective on the lost world. It also reveals His plan for giving eternal life to any and all who would believe in Christ Jesus, God’s Son. It was Jesus who suffered and died on a Roman cross and took our punishment, as well as, the sins of the whole world. It was Jesus who rose from the grave on the third day afterward, proving that He really is Who He says He is and can make good on all the promised He made us during His three-year ministry on earth.
Here are some verses from the Book of Romans that reveal who we are as sinners and who God wants us to be through His saving grace:
Romans 3:10-12 (NKJV)
As it is written:
“There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 8:1 (NKJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
